Rainy Day in Estes
En plein air oil painting $400
I got soaked for a few hours but it was quite an experience. It has a refreshingly feeling for a quite environment in a den or bedroom. Fun
Roaring River at the Alluvial Fan
This painting was done a few years after the Lawn Lake flood and shows little plant growth because of the scouring effect of the flood. It has been interesting to document scenes like this at different times in watercolor and in oil.
Fall River below Sundance Mountain
16×20 oil painting in rustic wood frame $800
I have painted this scene in many ways to explore and discover the beauty in the complexity of the mountains. I like this one because in its expressionistic looseness it directed me to do the large more realistic documentation of the wilderness scene with all its anomalies and geological remnants which reflect its growth.
Mountain Stream
24×36 oil painting museum wrap
$6000 This is the largest and latest version of this scene with lots of expressionistic brush strokes implying the elements (especially the water flow).
Memories…sometimes paintings document friendships and images at the same time. “Jim Creek” near Ward, CO. I always think of a gentle old miner friend (Amanda’s dad) from Nederland and his heart of gold as I hike west from the old highway stone bridge on the Peak to Peak Scenic Highway.
Oak Creek Canyon
A beautiful snowy day near Sedona, Arizona after an 8″ snow.
16×20 acrylic painting with gold frame $2800
Water Wonderland
This small lake was full of life both flora and fauna.
16×20 Plein Air oil painting $1800 Personal Collection
