He developed his abilities in perspective drawing to a point where it became automatic. His sculpture was a result of looking at detail in every form. What he learned from his studies of color theory was tested in paintings. Spiritual freedom, however, brings freedom in life, and that freedom opened up the whole world of exploration for Dennis. He paints now because he loves the challenge, sense of discovery and sharing the joy of the experience. He relives the memory and appreciation for the moment when he first experienced the beauty of the subject he is painting. The beauty of nature, the feeling, the joy and the atmosphere want to be expressed beyond the realism. Dennis creates the illusion of space, distance with a quick expressionistic brushstroke.

Fall River Glacier Country“Dennis sees the world quite clearly… and that is obvious from his style of painting. He probably sees more detail that most people will ever notice. But once you have seen his work, you cannot take your eyes off his vision.” Lynn White, Shriver Gallery, Taos, NM.

His passion now is growth, not in a competitive mode, but in new directions, taking the best and plunging ahead somewhere out there, in a unique, exciting and personal journey. Dennis practices a new awareness and confidence, living with his art, every day to the fullest.
